industrial design

What began as a technical drawing developed into a 2D design visualization for a soft good, at which point the visualization began to feel like a contained universe. It is in this ambient domain that the product concept itself may be understood as having more than merely conjoint physical and informational presence. It became a signfier and  emitter of the essence of what is truly wierd about the most ubiquitous types of information technology products, by becoming for me a depiction of place I might like to visit even if only just once,  or an old painting in a dim room, feeling its eyes on me as I momentarily fixate on it in passing. I would conjecture that if personality or metaphors for personality were conveyed in this manner it would have the effect of being more sublime than uncanny.

Ambient goods we already have include films, music or paintings. We look unto these, and depart the experience with a memory of one or more aspects of what was seen or heard or felt, and the good transits with us, onward, elsewhere.
